Absolutely beautifully written subtly bizzare portrait of an insane young woman perfectly content with her own insanity. The first person voice is pitch perfect and all of the characters are spine tinglingly off kilter. No there are no big surprises or clever plot twists here, but there is lots of terrific atmosphere and some quite nourishing food for thought.
I did enjoy this thoroughly despite the fact that I felt like I had to shake it off when I was done before I started lining things up in rows and nailing books to trees! The only thing that bugs me, and okay its a nit but it still bugs me, is how on earth did they keep the power and water running after half the house burned down
? That makes no sense to me.
