I'm still wavering between three and four stars. This is a charming little tale of an ordinary princess who likes ordinary things - fishing and picking berries and sparrows, rather than golden balls and harps and peacocks. Eventually she finds a prince who shares her preferences and likes her for being ordinary.
As I say, its charming and I would definitely recommend it, especially for a nine or ten year old girl. It is really more of a short story or novella however. There isn't that much to get your teeth into. As an older reader I wanted a little more. Thus the wavering between three and four. If you've gotten this far and it still sounds interesting I think you should read it and judge for yourself.
