Wow this was harder to finish than I was expecting it to be. In theory it should have been a perfect fit, english major at a midwestern college becomes entangled with elements of faerie. I think the difficulty was too much midwestern college english major, not enough element of faerie. It reads like letters from a quite nice and smart girlfriend at college in the seventies. Lots about her professors and what she really thinks of Keats, with a very occasional nod to something that happened last week, quite often to somebody else. Captures the atmosphere of being at school well but a little more attention to moving the plot along would have helped. Actually there was about enough plot for a short story or maybe a novella, so in a book this long things move slowly
and yet I read to the end so it obviously had something that held my attention.
